Grab, a leading superapp in Southeast Asia, continues offering services to fulfill consumers' everyday needs with the launch of GrabPet, the latest pet-friendly ride-hailing transport service in Thailand. Firstly launched in Bangkok and its vicinity, the service highlights 3 key advantages of "Convenience, Safety and Affordable Price". With GrabPet service, pet owners can book an on-demand ride anywhere at any time, starting at 95 baht; while pet lovers can be assured of safe service with Grab driver-partners who have received pet-handling training from a certified trainer.

Especially during the past 1-2 years, we have seen the rising trend of singles and childfree families in which they prefer to have pets as companions to ease loneliness. The work-from-home lifestyle caused by COVID-19 pandemic is also another factor that accelerates the continuous growth of the 35-billion valued pet industry* which includes pet-related services."

"Today consumers are still limited with their options when it comes to pet-friendly transport service. Most of which need advance booking at a high price. Seeing the market potential from this group of users, Grab is now launching our new service so-called GrabPet as an alternative for pet owners who might not have personal cars nor prefer driving. The service will allow pets and their owners to enjoy the out-of-home activities including going to relax, exercise or even a hospital. Our service comes with three key highlights which are convenience, safety standards and affordable price."

The three unique offerings for GrabPet include:

  • Convenient: Customers can book a ride on-demand anywhere at any time. They can also choose vehicles in two sizes, namely GrabPet with normal-sized cars for small and medium sized animals, and GrabPet XL with SUV cars for larger pets.
  • Safe, clean and worry-free ride: All GrabPet driver-partners are trained in pet handling by a certified trainer to ensure furry friends are provided with safe and proper service, together with compensation coverage up to THB 20,000 in case of accident to give pet owners more peace of mind. Besides, Grab is going the extra mile for safety and hygiene by having all GrabPet vehicles equipped with a foldable seat suitable for pets, as well as providing cleaning kits to driver-partners to ensure the vehicles are clean and well-maintained for all passengers.
  • Affordable price: Do not worry about intransparency or high priced service as users can see the price upfront before booking. The base fare starts at only THB 95 for GrabPet and THB 145 for GrabPet XL.

Specially for GrabPet users during the launch, Grab has partnered with Mars Thailand Inc., the leading distributor of dog and cat food brands from America including CESAR, IAMS and SHEBA, to give away free samples of the premium pet food when using the service throughout November 2021. Users will also receive up to a 30% discount when ordering pet food from these three brands via GrabMart.
