The presentation is part of American Women's Club of Thailand (AWC)'s commitment to promote women's rights and gender equality through education. AWC has been collaborating with the foundation since 2012.
Established in 1987 and registered as a charitable organization No. 255 under the laws of Thailand, EDF Foundation is recognized from both locally and internationally.
From 1988-2021, the foundation provided 398,500 scholarships worth 696,838,149 million baht to students in some 5,679 educational institutions around Thailand.
The foundation received several awards and recognitions, including CAF International Validated Organization Badge in 2021 for its charitable purposes and operations which have safeguards against the risk of fraud, money laundering or other illicit activities; 5 Star rating award for its Good Governance & Transparency and Financial Efficiency from Giving Back Association in 2016; Thailand NGO Awards 2012 for large organization category from the Rockefeller Foundation, Kenan Institute Asia and the Resource Alliance; Thai Morality Award from Association of the Union of the Disabled of Thailand in 2014 and Golden Kallapapruek Award from Khon Kaen University in 2013 for its continuous development of scholarship programs and educational development projects.
