Mr. Sornchai Suneta, CFA, Executive Vice President, Wealth & Investment Product, Consumer Banking Business Group, Siam Commercial Bank revealed that international economic and geopolitical tension created challenges for the investment world in 2025 and resulted in higher volatility in various assets. Traditional investment portfolio, with 60% equity and 40% fixed income, may not be enough to cope with volatility, so it is recommended to increase investment in alternative assets to diversify risks and better control the volatility of the investment portfolio.

After SCB WEALTH has announced a partnership with BlackRock, the priority is to develop and offer investment solutions for Thai investors to access high-quality global investments that meet their desire to generate consistent returns in the long term. This product - SCB Global Multi-Asset Core Portfolio (SCBGMCORE) - covers all interesting investment assets around the world. It is set up by SCB Asset Management Co., Ltd. (SCBAM) and managed by BlackRock. The initial public offering (IPO) will be between April 2 to 9,2025 and with a minimum investment of 1,000 baht and a value of 10 baht per unit of investment. Investment portfolio has been exclusively designed for SCB WEALTH clients. It is the first of its kind in Thailand ,featuring a unique asset allocation strategy never before introduced in the country. SCBGMCORE has a policy of investing in investment units of foreign mutual funds, such as CIS units, units of ETFs that invest in various assets around the world, including real estate funds and infrastructure funds, the asset allocation will depend on the discretion of the fund manager according to the appropriateness of the situation in each period.

Initially, the fund will allocate 75% of the fund to invest in a diversified portfolio of highly liquid ETFs, supporting quick portfolio adjustment. The fund can invest in more than 10 asset classes, including stocks, bonds, as well as alternative assets such as gold, REITs, and TIPs, diversified across more than 100 countries globally. The fund has an active management approach and is highly flexible, which can be adjusted in a timely manner to keep up with different market conditions, based on in-depth economic data analysis by a team of experts in determining factors and adjusting investment portfolios. In addition, the fund will allocate 25% in liquid alternative assets which is BlackRock's key absolute return strategy flagship fund that has low correlation with the global stock market and fixed income securities.
