Thai Union Group, the world seafood leader, has won the CIO100 Award for "Team of the Year" under the Innovation category. The awards, presented by Foundry and International Data Corporation (IDC), celebrate 100 organizations that set the benchmark for excellence in technology leadership and use IT in innovative ways to deliver business value.

Thai Union Wins CIO100 Award 2024 for Innovation

Thai Union's Digital team has been recognized for its achievements on the global transition of the IT team to a Digital organization structured around an innovative global 'product-based' operating model. This model ensures that digital innovation is closely tailored to the specific needs of Thai Union's diverse product lines, enabling the delivery of custom solutions that drive efficiency and support growth.

To serve all the data needs for Thai Union, the team also developed a Common Data Platform to enable better decision-making and more informed strategies across all areas of the business. Moreover, the team also implemented a profiling system and skills assessment tool, which helped to more accurately define the skill requirements for different roles within the digital team and assess each team member's competencies. Other achievements by the Digital team include:

  • Modernizing ERP systems and migrating to SAP RISE
  • Creating a global SAP user community for collaboration
  • Adopting low-code/no-code platforms to drive innovation
  • Strengthening security with advanced tools

The CIO100 Awards recognize organizations demonstrating how people and technology effectively collaborate to drive innovation and deliver exceptional value.
