True Corporation has once again been recognized as the world's most sustainable company in the telecommunications sector, marking its 7th consecutive year of this prestigious achievement. This accolade is part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) 2024, which evaluates companies based on the S&P Global's Corporate Social Assessment (CSA) of their economic, environmental, and social performance. True Corporation scored 95 out of 100, the world's highest score for a telecommunications company. On this occasion, True Corporation also shared some of its key sustainability initiatives for 2025.
Mr. Manat Manavutiveth, Chief Executive Officer, True Corporation Plc said, "True Corporation has been the world's most sustainable telco for seven years now. It's a testament to our performance in the environmental, social, and governance domains. But more importantly, it's a platform for us to enable sustainability in Thailand in key areas such as climate action, safe internet, digital access, innovation and education. Building on our leadership position, 2025 is our year to further accelerate how we empower everyone in Thailand to live safer, healthier, and more productive digital lives."
ENVIRONMENT: Platforms for Climate Action
True scored 94 out of 100 in the environmental dimension of the S&P Global CSA. This reflects a consistent reduction in the company's carbon emissions and increased use of renewable energy sources. Notably, True Corporation now has solar panels across over 10,000 network sites. The company has also implemented extensive recycling programs and initiatives to minimize waste.
In 2025, True Corporation is extending its climate action to all its stakeholders through three key initiatives:
SOCIAL: Digital Access to Empower Society
True scored 99 out 100 in the social dimension of the assessment. This reflects continued investment in community development programs, focusing on education, healthcare, and digital inclusion. Enabling these programs, True's network already reaches 99% of the population on 4G and over 92% on 5G. In 2025, the company aims to complete 100% of its network modernization, increasing speed and coverage at sites nationwide.
Building on this foundation, True is committed to transforming network availability and accessibility into digital opportunity across three platforms:
GOVERNANCE: New Protections for the AI Era
True maintains high standards of corporate governance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices, scoring 92 out of 100 in this dimension. Responding to the growing use of artificial intelligence, True Corporation was the first telecom company in Thailand to adopt the GSMA's Responsible AI Roadmap, in collaboration with 19 global operators. The roadmap's tools and assessments support high standards for safe, equitable and sustainable AI usage that meet the best practices globally. In early 2025, True Corporation will follow up with the launch of Responsible AI by Design, to ensure ethical usage of artificial intelligence throughout all its operations.
Mr. Manat Manavutiveth, Chief Executive Officer, True Corporation Plc said, "As True Corporation continues to lead in sustainability, we remain committed to furthering our efforts in environmental conservation, social responsibility, and governance. The company aims to set new benchmarks in the telecommunications industry and inspire other companies to adopt sustainable practices."
As a result of True Corporation's class-leading scores in the 2024 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), the company will be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), a family of best-in-class benchmarks for investors. DJSI applies a transparent, rules-based component selection process based on the companies' Total Sustainability Scores resulting from the annual S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Only the top ranked companies within each industry are selected for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index family.
