Discover a new culinary experience with "KANEKO HANNOSUKE", a premium tempura rice bowl restaurant delivering authentic Japanese flavors made from the finest ingredients drizzled with a secret family sauce recipe passed down through generations. You can now enjoy this unique taste of Japan right here in Thailand, on the 1st floor, The Storeys at One Bangkok.
Mr. Shinya Kaneko, the founder of KANEKO HANNOSUKE, expressed his excitement about expanding the brand to Thailand. He thanked Japan's Oishes Group for helping develop and grow the brand worldwide and expressed appreciation to Saha Group, who now manages the Thailand operations.
"Kaneko Hannosuke's" signature tempura rice bowl or tendon is crafted from the traditional recipe developed by Shinya's grandfather. This menu has been popular with customers across Japan, the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Shinya is confident that this authentic flavor will appeal to Thai customers, bringing the true "OISHII" (delicious) experience to Thailand. Although the Thai food market is highly competitive, Shinya feels assured with Saha Group's support, believing this traditional Japanese dish will bring a unique dining experience to Thai people and strengthen the friendship between Thailand and Japan.
The KANEKO HANNOSUKE brand originated from the passion of Shinya's grandfather, Hannosuke Kaneko, who developed the sauce and tempura rice bowl recipes, recording them in the Kaneko family recipe book. Shinya, the third-generation successor, further developed the recipes and opened the first branch in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, in 2010. This marked the beginning of the brand's journey to global success. Today, KANEKO HANNOSUKE has around 50 branches worldwide, recognized by awards like the Gold Award from the Zenkoku Donburi Grand Prix in the Tendon category (2014-2023) and the Taishu Tenpyo - Shin Chi Ban Award in 2023. It was also listed in Tabelog's Tempura Top 100 in 2022.
The restaurant's signature dish, "Edomae Tendon," features premium ingredients, such as shrimp, anago eel, scallop kakiage (mixed seafood and vegetable tempura), onsen egg, and leafy greens, topped with a family-secret recipe sauce. Fried in a special oil blend for a crispy outside and tender inside, it's served in a uniquely wide bowl to retain heat and crunchiness, offering customers a one-of-a-kind experience. The decor blends traditional Japanese and modern styles, using natural materials to create a warm, welcoming ambiance.
Mr. Jakkrit Santirattanakul, Managing Director of Kaneko Hannosuke (Thailand) Co., Ltd., explained, "Our research shows that tempura is one of the top Japanese dishes Thais enjoy when visiting Japan, especially tendon. With Saha Group's involvement, we're excited to bring this authentic Edomae tendon experience to Thailand. This aligns with our strategy to expand our customer base and meet the needs of the Thai market, adding more diversity to Thailand's competitive food scene. We anticipate a warm reception from Thai customers who love Japanese cuisine and plan for steady revenue growth and further branch expansions next year based on customer demand in the region."
KANEKO HANNOSUKE Thailand is now open on the 1st floor, The Storeys at One Bangkok. The Thailand location marks the 49th branch globally. For more details, visit Facebook: Kaneko Hannosuke Thailand and Instagram: Kaneko.Hannosuke.Th.
