KTC Reports Surge in Tap-and-Pay Card Usage Among Working-Age MRT Commuters

Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) has observed a significant rise in the adoption of its "Tap-and-Pay" feature among working-age credit cardmembers for the MRT system, with daily transactions surpassing 500,000 trips. Key city-center stations, such as Sukhumvit and Silom, have emerged as major hotspots for this convenient payment method. In 2024, KTC VISA and KTC MASTERCARD credit card spending within the MRT system witnessed an impressive 22% year-over-year growth, with usage frequency soaring by 52% and the number of users increasing by 34% compared to 2023. In alignment with its vision to foster a cashless society and elevate commuter convenience, KTC is collaborating with the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) to introduce exclusive benefits for "Tap-and-Pay" users on the MRT Blue and Purple lines throughout 2025.
