CP Foods Unite to Safeguard the Oceans

This year, CP Foods expanded its beach cleanup initiative across seven coastal provinces in Thailand: Rayong, Trat, Songkhla, Phang Nga, Trang, Chumphon, and Samut Sakhon. Simultaneously, CP Vietnam volunteers conducted similar coastal cleanup efforts in Vietnam. The combined operations resulted in the collection of 4.5 tons of waste, which will be managed sustainably.

During the week of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, approximately 300 participants, including employees from CP Foods, alongside with CP Group's affiliates including CP All, CP Axtra, and CP Land, gathered to clean up the mangrove forest area in Samut Sakhon. They were joined by local authorities to collect trash and participate in ecological restoration activities, such as planting native mangrove species like Avicennia marina and Rhizophora mucronata at the Mangrove Resource Development Center in Bang Ya Phraek.

This year, CP Foods has expanded its efforts internationally, with CP Foods' operations in Vietnam joining the "CPF Restore the Ocean" initiative. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Vietnam, CP Foods' volunteers, alongside local residents, engaged in similar clean-up activities. Additionally, CP Vietnam hosted an innovative "Trash to Trees" exchange program, encouraging proper waste disposal and local participation in sustainability efforts.

Throughout the week-long event across the seven provinces, volunteers successfully collected a total of 4.5 tons of waste. This waste will be appropriately managed, with parts of it being recycled or upcycled into new products, such as decorative garden tiles and plant pots, demonstrating a commitment to the circular economy principles.
