KTC launches 'Art from the Heart' volunteer event to brighten local elderly home

KTC is committed to fostering employee development and enhancing societal well-being, focusing on both physical and mental health. Recognizing Thailand's shift into an aging society, KTC hosted the "Art from the Heart" event at the Sudthavas Foundation for Homeless Elderly Women in Nakhon Nayok Province. During this Mother's Day month celebration, KTC volunteers brought joy and companionship to over 60 elderly women through engaging and relaxing activities.

The "Art from the Heart" volunteer event kicked off as KTC employees invited the elderly women to paint and color cards, activities known to aid concentration and provide mental relaxation. Guidance was offered by Mr. Pisit Akesinsomboon, a retired KTC employee turned art teacher, who taught simple painting techniques that foster warm interactions between the volunteers and the elderly participants. Alongside these creative pursuits, the elderly enjoyed a mini-concert by the KTC Acoustic Band, performed by KTC volunteers, and relished snacks, enhancing cheerful atmosphere Additionally, KTC's management and staff donated essential supplies to the foundation, aiming to alleviate the residents' hardships and improve their living conditions.

Ms. Piyasuda Kwaennonsee, Head of Human Resources "KTC" or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, highlighted the company's dedication to social responsibility: "Through our "Art from the Heart" event. We strive to uplift the elderly and engage our employees in meaningful volunteerism. This initiative allows staff to use their skills to give back, enhancing their growth and inspiring continued community support. Our goal is to spread joy and bolster the spirit of those in need."

Ms. Piyachat Wongsaroje, Care Manager of the Sudthavas Foundation for Homeless Elderly Women, shared, "The Sudthavas Foundation provides shelter and care for impoverished elderly women and was approved as part of a royal project celebrating His Majesty King Rama IX on the occasion of his 7th birthday anniversary. The foundation has been accepting elderly women since 2014, and it has now been over 10 years. The 'This Picture is for Grandma's Heart' event organized by KTC has greatly contributed to the happiness and warmth of the elderly at our foundation. The support from KTC is invaluable and essential in helping us care for and enhance the quality of life for the elderly in our foundation."

One of the elderly participants from the Sudthavas Foundation expressed her feelings about today's event, saying, "I am very happy that there are organizations that care about us. It feels heartwarming and encouraging to have people visit and engage in activities with us. Thank you to everyone for making today such a joyful day."
