Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, revealed that TAT has established a policy to promote conservation tourism, aiming to increase awareness and appreciation for responsible travel through 'The One for Nature: Leave No Trace Behind' now in its 3rd year. This initiative focuses on the younger generation, specifically Gen S - Gen Sustainability or Green Gen, encouraging them to travel in an eco-friendly manner and to create and share their "Your Green Side Stories." The goal is to ensure that tourism contributes to environmental care and conservation while enhancing Thailand's image as a quality leisure destination committed to sustainability.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity of seagrass planting at Ko Taen, Surat Thani, on September 16, 2024, is part of the 'The One for Nature: Leave No Trace Behind'. Supported by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources and the Samui Community Tourism Association, this initiative aims to restore seagrass, which is crucial for marine ecosystems as it provides habitat, shelter, and food for marine life, particularly dugongs, which are indicators of a healthy sea. Beyond benefiting marine animals, the restoration of seagrass also positively impacts local communities and enhances Thailand's reputation as a globally renowned destination for its rich and stunning natural beauty.

In August, TAT promoted the project under the Amazing Thailand: Your Stories Never End campaign, reinforcing the core message of sustainable tourism. The campaign invited tourists to connect with nature and local lifestyles in Thailand, creating their "Your Green Side Stories" to share endlessly. This was facilitated through an online campaign on the website www.tourismthailand.org/theonefornature where tourists could design E-Postcards and share them on social media with hashtags #AmazingThailand and #TheOneForNature for a chance to win one of three conservation-focused travel packages to Phang Nga and Phuket, including a 3-day, 2-night stay. The campaign received a positive response, with over 1,000 participants. Additionally, TAT organized On Ground Activities with promotional booths in key tourist areas, including IconSiam in Bangkok, Ao Nang Walking Street in Krabi, Wualai Walking Street and Tha Phae Walking Street in Chiang Mai, and the Samui Film Festival in Ko Samui, Surat Thani. TAT hopes that the success of The One for Nature project over the past three years will reflect its commitment to promoting sustainable tourism in Thailand and further establish the country as a globally recognized sustainable tourism destination.
