WHA Group Signs Power Purchase Agreement for Aisin Powertrain Solar Phase 2 Project
Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul Chairman of the Executive Committee and Group CEO of WHA Corporation PCL ,presided over the signing ceremony for a Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) for the Aisin Powertrain Solar Phase 2 project. Joining her were Mr. Somkiat Masunthasuwun, CEO of WHA Utilities and Power (WHAUP), and Mr. Masahiro Kamei, President Of Aisin Powertrain (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (AIPT). The ceremony took place at WHA Tower.
The Aisin Powertrain Solar Phase 2 Project has a capacity of approximately one megawatt (MW). The total capacity for Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined will be 4.23 MW. Aisin Power Solar Phase 2 will be installed in the form of a floating solar farm in a water reservoir within the WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 2. This agreement marks a step forward in the sustainability efforts of both organizations, aligning with its carbon neutrality policy and commitment to mitigating climate change. The project is expected to reduce AIPT's energy costs by up to THB 650,000 per year and help AIPT reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by up to 15,900 tons of carbon dioxide over the project's 25-year lifespan.
