Leading the Way in Individual Carbon Footprint Offsets for Guests during the New Year Festival to Encourage the Public to "Abate, Avoid, Action" for a Sustainable World

Carbon Markets Club, Bangchak Group, and Four Iconic Hotels in Ratchaprasong-Sukhumvit Area under The Erawan Group Launch "Stay for Santa" Campaign

Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Chairperson of Carbon Markets Club, Chatchai Loybundit, Executive Vice President of Investment, BCPG Public Company Limited joined by The Erawan Group Public Company Limited represented by Sebastian Frederic Salmon, Senior Vice President, Franchised Hotel Operations and Rungthip Phenphan, Vice President, Sustainability Development & Corporate Communication Division, Bangchak Group executives and executives from The Erawan Group Hotels, in launching the "Stay for Santa" campaign. The initiative aims to pilot individual carbon footprint offsets for guests staying at four hotels under The Erawan Group during the New Year Festival, from 23 December 2023 to 2 January 2024 for ten nights. The goal is to spread happiness and contribute to the planet.

The "Stay for Santa" campaign will communicate to raise awareness among hotel guests about responsible tourism that considers environmental impact and actively participate in reducing carbon dioxide emissions during stays and travel. The campaign encourages guests to Abate, Avoid, Action - Abate carbon emissions, Avoid harming the environment, and Action every day. This message will be communicated through the hotels' internal channels, online platforms of the hotels and Carbon Markets Club, to promote the reduction of carbon footprint during hotel stays and in everyday life as much as possible.

Carbon Markets Club, Bangchak Group and The Erawan Group jointly drive the low carbon society initiative with the launch of the "Stay for Santa" campaign. This showcases a commitment to social and environmental responsibility. It also serves as a pioneering project that encourages private sector businesses and the general public to prioritize the initiation of creative activities aimed at widespread reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The four leading hotels from The Erawan Group are 1) Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok 2) JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok 3) Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok, and 4) Mercure Sukhumvit 24.

For those remaining emissions that prove challenging to eradicate, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited will offset the carbon emissions for hotel guests participating in the campaign with T-VER carbon credits from BCPG Public Company Limited through Carbon Markets Club. This initiative not only allows the individual carbon footprint of the guests during the New Year Festival to be offset, but also contributes to the overall joy of this festive season. Guests will enjoy an environmentally and socially responsible stay, playing their part in a more sustainable world and passing on a beautiful world to future generations, where they can live and travel happily.
