H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Thailand, and The Rt. Hon. Amanda Milling MP, Minister for Asia at the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office of the United Kingdom, visited the Siam Bioscience manufacturing facility, where AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine is produced. They were welcomed by James Teague, Country President of AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd., Nualphan Lamsam, Honorary Director of Corporate Communications, Siam Bioscience Co., Ltd. and Dr Songpon Deechongkit, Managing Director of Siam Bioscience Co., Ltd.
Siam Bioscience is the only manufacturing site of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine in Southeast Asia, and it will continue to play a critical role in the supply of vaccine doses to Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, contributing to Thailand's status as a regional medical hub. The visit has reinforced collaboration among partners and their commitment to overcome COVID-19.
COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca manufactured in Thailand has been authorised under the World Health Organization (WHO) Emergency Use Listing (EUL) procedure. AstraZeneca and Siam Bioscience continue to work closely and produce vaccine doses for the wellbeing of the Thai people and region in meeting the dynamic challenges of the pandemic.
