Yanmar launches "Big Tires" YM series tractors suitable for cultivation of rice and other plants with efficient towing capacity and durability, now ready for test drive and purchase at Yanmar distributors nationwide.
Yanmar, the leader in agricultural machinery from Japan, previously released the YM351A (51 hp) and YM357A (57 hp) tractors, featuring a powerful and fuel-saving engine, a modern outlook, and multifunctionality, which have been well received by local farmers. After the success of its precursors, the "big tires" YM357A-L1 series tractor has been developed for the cultivation of rice and other agricultural plants to yield high towing capacity with the usual outstanding fuel-saving ability. The series is also equipped with a special feature, the draft control system which is Yanmar's own technology. When working on uneven grounds or agricultural areas with obstruction, the system will automatically adjust the traction load up and down according to the surface condition to deliver a clean and smooth work with good quality.
Another outstanding feature of the YM357A-L1 tractor is the big tires which are 14.9-28 inches in diameter. The tires help boost the work efficiency up to 15-20%. To increase the towing capacity, farmers can further install a maximum of 240kg wheels (120kg on each side). The 4-setting tread is adjustable on both the front and rear wheels to suit each assignment and different farm types. The lower arm can support both category (I) and (II) accessories, enabling farmers to reduce the production cost by using their already-owned accessories. All of these are featured in Yanmar's new YM357A-L1 tractors.
Mr. Thatchapol Chawinthanachot, Marketing Manager of Yanmar SP Company Limited, added that the majority, about 50%, of agricultural areas in Thailand are rice fields while other farming occupies about 40% of the total farmland. According to a local farmer survey, the majority or about 80% of local farmers own hybrid farms that grow both rice and other agricultural plants. This group of farmers particularly needs powerful engine tractors. However, while those too-heavy-weighed tractors may cause damage to farming areas, the too-light-weighed ones usually deliver insufficient towing capacity. Yanmar, therefore, feels confident that the YM357A-L1 series tractor will better respond to the farmers' needs, stated Mr. Chawinthanachot.
Yanmar's YM357A-L1 tractor costs Baht780,000. Interested farmers may visit their local Yanmar distributors for a test drive or call 1638 for more information and watch the concept movie at www.yanmar.com/th or Yanmar Thailand Fanclub Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
