"SCB" and "Roche Thailand" collaborate to introduce "Loans for Cancer and Hemophilia Medication" for better peace of mind and quality of life
With the current economic recession, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is aware of the high costs of healthcare that keep rising, especially the cost of prescription drugs for cancer and hemophilia patients. To help address this issue, SCB has collaborated with Roche Thailand Co., Ltd., the frontrunner in the personalized healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, to offer "Loans for Cancer and Hemophilia Medication", a digital loan program designed to help alleviate concerns about unaffordable medication costs. Available in amounts of up to 2 million baht per person, the loans allow borrowers to pay the equal installments for up to 60 months. With an amortization feature allowing the principal amount to be reduced more quickly, borrowers can pay only half of the interest rate at 7.5% p.a. for first 12 months when joining the Roche Patient Support Solution (RPSS). The RPSS assists patients and caregivers by providing better access to targeted treatments, which will help increase survival rates and improve their quality of life. Without any requirement for collateral or personal guarantee, loan applicants can just submit their payroll documents, cancer or hemophilia medication bills issued by Independent Processing Services Co., Ltd. (IPS) at any government hospitals nationwide or participating private hospitals, and medical certificates. With no need to visit a bank branch in person, the loans can be applied for anytime, anywhere via the SCB EASY application -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Funds will be transferred to your account as soon as loans are approved.
Speaking about the new lending product, Dr. Chalee Asavathiratham, Siam Commercial Bank Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Digital Banking Officer said, "Cancer is the second leading cause of death around the world, and SCB is deeply concerned about the severity of the disease. The high cost of medical prescriptions for cancer is one of the factors worrying both patients and their loved ones. To help ease the burden of medication costs, SCB has partnered with Roche Thailand Co., Ltd., a global leader in the personalized healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, to offer "Loans for Cancer and Hemophilia Medication" under the Roche Patient Support Solution (RPSS). These loans allow spouses, children, or parents to apply on behalf of patients, with a maximum limit of 2 million baht per person and installments for a maximum period of 60 months. This amortized loan lets borrowers pay only half the 15% p.a. interest rate for first 12 months, 7.5%, which will help speed up principal payment. The interest rate in the following years will be charged at only 15% p.a. until the end of the contract. The loan can be applied for easily via the SCB EASY application anytime and anywhere, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Bank is determined to stand by and take care of its customers overcoming hard times. We sincerely hope that this strategic partnership will play a role in improving survival rates and our customers' quality of life, helping to relieve worries and financial burdens while bringing peace of mind to both patients and their loved ones."
Mr. Farid Bidgoli, General Manager, Roche Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos stated, "Nowadays a large number of cancer and hemophilia patients still lack access to quality and innovative treatments, mainly due to their financial burdens. Therefore, Roche Thailand is committed to assisting the needs of patients and caregivers by relieving their anxiety and supporting greater access to treatments. We are delighted to collaborate with a partner with SCB, and look forward to offering our bank assistance with exceptional interest rates under the Roche Patient Support Solutions (RPSS) program. We aim to improve treatment outcomes and patients' quality of lives. For 50 years since our establishment in the country, Roche Thailand has a strong commitment to be a driving force in improving the local healthcare system by fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships with public and private sectors.
