Employees, Customers of Esso and ExxonMobil in Thailand Make Donation 500,000 Baht Contributed to Thai Red Cross to Fight COVID-19

Employees and customers of Esso and ExxonMobil in Thailand joined together to continue the fight against COVID-19.  Employees of the company conducted a fundraising initiative to benefit the Thai Red Cross Society.  Customers were also encouraged to join the effort by using their Esso Smiles Card member points to contribute.  The fundraising effort started in late March and extending to mid April has received a total donation of 355,600 baht from employees and a total of 144,400 baht from Esso Smiles customers in point redemption.  Total donations has made up to 500,000 baht.

“I am consistently impressed by our employees and their desire to use their own time, talents, and funds to make a positive difference in our community,” said Dr.  Adisak Jangkamolkulchai(4thfrom left), Chairman and Managing Director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited.  “I am further humbled by the outpouring of support from our customers who utilized their Esso Smiles Card to join in the fight against COVID-19.  I am amazed by the generosity reflected in this fundraising effort.  It really demonstrates how we are all in this together, and I am honored to represent our employees and customers to make this donation to the Thai Red Cross Society.”

The Thai Red Cross Society was selected as the recipient of the funds due to the organization’s unique position to use the funds to assist doctors and medical staff with much needed medical equipment.  

“On behalf of the Thai Red Cross Society, we are grateful for this donation by the employees and customers of Esso and ExxonMobil in Thailand for additional relief from the COVID-19 situation,” said Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh (5thfrom left), Thai Red Cross Director of the Fund Raising Bureau. “The funds will be used to provide needed medical equipment and facilities in support to relief services of the Thai Red Cross network of hospitals throughout the country.  This will help us provide life-saving treatments to those most in need and support the work of medical staff as well.”    

Earlier this month, company employees also donated face shieldsto medical staff at six different hospitals.
