Megabangna Shopping Centre, the great meeting place of Eastern Bangkok, marks year 2020 with the "The Journey of Mouse", featuring installation art pieces in the shape of mouse. Crafted by 20 Thai artists, these art pieces bespeak their creators' unique style and interpretation of the Year of Rat. The art lovers may find the installations in different zones, such as Mega Plaza Zone, Mega Park, Mega FoodWalk, and Sky Walk of Megabangna throughout this year.
Sirinchat Sangsri, Vice President of Marketing of Megabangna said, "We organize The Journey of Mouse art installation to welcome year 2020 and bring the customers a new and different experience. The art admirers can not only appreciate and draw inspiration from these creative art pieces but also take photos with the installations as a memory keepsake. Three characters of these artpieces, namely father, mother, and child, represent the image of Megabangna as the place that serves the lifestyle of every family generation when the members spend quality time together here.
'The Journey of Mouse' art installation was brought to life by the imagination of 20 artists to present the Year of the Rat in their perspectives as below:
- 'Art Therapy from Love Relationship' is the creation of Chittakarn (Yaipoeng) and Thanat Suvanabhat (Naipran), Autistic sister and brother. Using the concept of art therapy from love relationship, Nai Phran made the children's art by drawing all animals while his sister arranged the composition.
- 'Father Mouse and Heartwarming Picnic' is the brainchild of Piyasak 'MAUY' Khiaosaard, internationally recognized street artist. He created the Father mouse, representing a strong yet gentle leader who dedicated his time to his family members to keep them safe and warm.
- Pink Mother Mouse was crafted by Piyanart 'Kapi' Tonmalee, who has the bold signature and character. Inspired by her favorite color, pink, she gave birth to a cute, lively, and approachable character sparkling with glitters. It symbolized the bright and cheerful beginning of year.
- Kongsak Poonpholwattanaporn created a mouse sculpture, which takes the form of either water droplets or clouds with legs. The artist used the spray paint and acrylic paint in bright and fun colors to celebrate good things that are about to happen in the Year of Rat.
- Jitti Jumnianwai, also known as JITTIROBOT, compared colorful scoops of ice cream with human. Like ice cream, which has soft, hard, and liquid forms, people can be both harsh and gentle. Various colors of ice cream melting together represents people co-existing in the society. So, people should learn to understand each other and their difference.
- Lanmita Phansuwan or Fridadaugh created a mouse riding on the back of a cat, traveling in the beautiful nature. Despite the difference, both mouse and cat have a good relationship. With love and compassion, they can live together freely, peacefully, and happily.
