DHL employees volunteered as employability experts to organize and facilitate a workshop in SOS Children's Village Chiang Rai from 26 to 27 March 2016. At the workshop, employees actively engaged with the youth and shared career experience and expertise as the first module of the "Ton Kla on the Go" career training session.

This project was initiated as part of Deutsche Post DHL Group's GoTeach program, which aims to improve educational opportunities and employability for young people and facilitate their transition to the working world. DHL is committed to help youth from all diverse economic and educational backgrounds to develop practical skills that will guide their career development.

DHL plans to organize more Ton Kla on the Go workshops for Thai youth in SOS Children's Village Nong Khai, Phuket, Hat Yai and Bangpoo as part of its continuous commitment to improve employability to the underprivileged youth. The workshops offer a comprehensive curriculum including youth development platforms, career guidance, mentoring, as well as aptitude and personality tests.

"It is a great honor for us at DHL in Thailand to play a leading role in organizing hands-on community and sustainability engagements to help these and many other children throughout Thailand," said Chananyarak Phetcharat, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand. "These youth should be applauded for the great enthusiasm and positive attitude shown during the workshops. They are very proactive and absolutely determined to positively take what they learn at these workshops to higher levels. This will definitely impact their future career progression and provide them with a competitive edge over others."

Deutsche Post DHL Group launched its global partnership with SOS Children's Villages in 2010. The partnership helps provide young people between the ages of 15 and 25 with better opportunities for a professional career, empowerment, an independent and steady source of income and a self-determined life. In addition to GoTeach, the company is also focused on GoGreen (protecting the environment) and GoHelp (disaster preparedness and response) programs.

Since 1971, SOS Children's Villages Thailand have been supporting children who have lost their parental care, helping them grow up in the most natural way possible and guiding them on their path from childhood to adulthood. There are 700 children being cared for in five SOS Children's Villages all over Thailand – Bangpoo Samutprakarn, Hatyai Songkla, Nongkhai, Chiang Rai and Phuket – and SOS mothers provide children who have lost their parental care and a supportive and a loving home. Presently, SOS Children's Villages Thailand has raised more than 500 responsible and independent adults who are now actively contributing to society.
