Since first being held at the British Embassy in 1956, the Ploenchit Fair has become one of the biggest and most loved events of the social calendar in Bangkok. The Ploenchit Fair 2014 will feature an enormous array of outdoor attractions and entertainment for a fun-filled day with family and friends. Kids will enjoy Hospital’s Hands Spin Boats, Transpo’s Giant Wave Slide, Shooting Gallery, King of the Mountain, Water Roller Ball and the Bungy, as well as many games stalls, and Bumrungrad’s Father Christmas will be paying an early visit to the Fair for our younger members. While adults will enjoy over 50 shopping outlets at the Petticoat Lane that has charity stalls selling a vast assortment of treasures ranging from clothes, gifts, and cosmetic products to an amazing variety of international cuisines such as Sunrise Tacos, British Fish & Chips, Masala Art and delighted lunchtime with Bistro33 – all sorts of pasta, hot dogs and grilled to your taste and Olive-Greek’s Mediterrean to ensure a range of foods to sate your appetite. Krispy Kremes, Ice Cream and fresh fruit drinks from Rocket Coffee B will be in the grounds and refreshments come along as well as the return of The Londoner Brew Pub to the fair with their special drink. Various stalls will offer fun for everyone, with a chance to win many of the thousands of prizes, while knowing that every baht spent will go towards helping those in need. Skytrain to BTS Bang Na Station and free continuous shuttle bus service to the Bangkok Pattana School and from the Fair, or drive to the School at 643 Soi La Salle, Sukhumvit Soi 105. Parking is available in the grounds (map attached herewith).WHAT HAPPEN TO THE MONEY THAT THE FAIR RAISES
The BCTFN disburses funds to a wide range of projects. Since the year 2000 alone, the Fair has raised over 70 million baht which has benefited a diverse range of organizations. In recent years, priority has been given to self-help projects that benefit and enable a community to become self-sustaining. Assistance has also been given in the provision of basic necessities and equipment to improve healthcare, nutrition, education, agricultural projects and the disabled throughout Thailand Donations are never made in cash. Once a project is approved, building plans, estimates and invoices etc will be met by the BCTFN and payment made directly to contractors and suppliers.
