Now, the widespread acclaim has been crowned with a prestigious accolade – the coveted iF communication design gold award. The prize is awarded annually for outstanding design by a distinguished 16-strong international judging panel.At the awards ceremony in Munich on 3 September, Gaggenau was presented with the award in the category Corporate Architecture. In the words of the judges, “This exhibition is a perfect expression of the Gaggenau lifestyle and shows how a sound product philosophy can be faithfully implemented. For years, Gaggenau has operated at the highest level – both technically and aesthetically – producing high-end kitchen appliances. With its stand, it has afforded us a glimpse into the inner life of its sophisticated, award-winning products. It’s not only foodies who will be delighted by them.”Authentic and professional.In stark contrast to expectations, Gaggenau presented its new products in an authentic factory setting amidst production machinery, mesh boxes full of appliance parts and pallets. Chief Designer Gerd Wilsdorf and Sven Baacke, the creative minds behind the presentation, and Sven Schnee, Head of Gaggenau International, agreed, “We were fully aware that our presentation would polarise opinion, so we were all the more delighted at the enthusiastic feedback, and particularly at winning this award from an internationally renowned institution such as iF.”
