ManpowerGroup suggests the way to encounter the present wage for supporting the AEC market as well as implementing the market development plan which has been changed to comply with the demand of labor market in the future. The “Collaboration Strategy” is implemented as a major mechanism in running the organization. The masterpiece of 2012 is revealed to present the amazingly growing income of 22 % with the One-to-One Marketing. It is revealed that the company prepares to expand the business by establishing the manpower searching center in Cambodia.

Mr. Simon Matthews, Country Manager (Thailand) ManpowerGroup, says that the current situation has changed. Thailand used to have strength in textile industry. However, when the domestic wage increases, this industry moves to grow in China and Vietnam. Consequently, Thai labor market has changed to focus on the automobile industry and the tendency is still high because Thai industry still mainly puts the emphasis on automobiles and electronics. The automobile industry is like an eastern Detroit. As people nowadays pay more attention to the environment, the hybrid cars are produced causing the skilled labor to move into this industry. Moreover, there is a growth in the design and is expected to be more emphasized in the future.

At present, the wage in America, Europe, and Japan is quite high. Several companies plan to move the production base to other countries. Thus, the labor also migrates. Although the technology is more improved, Thailand still encounters the problem of lacking skilled labors and language skills especially for the industrial labor focusing on the particular skills such as in Eastern Seaboard. The main focus of ManpowerGroup is to search for more labors in some insufficient fields. Meanwhile, ManpowerGroup plans to establish the manpower searching and selection center in Cambodia as well. Khun Suthida Kanjanakantikul, Marketing Manager, ManpowerGroup says that according to the current situation of labor market and the survey of ManpowerGroup among 1,080 job applicants and 200 companies using the service of ManpowerGroup, it reveals that the presently most-wanted field of job for the labors is in marketing and public relations of 21%. The second is in administration and human resource of 20%. The third is in advertising, and media of 16%. Meanwhile the most-wanted field of job for the market is in marketing and public relations of 17%. The second is in IT of 14% and the third is in engineering of 13%. These are in accordance with the labor demand that the recruitment companies are requested for selecting the labors. In order to respond to the market demand and approach every group of labors, we plan to communicate in the VACC Model which consists of the variety of tools and channels to approach the target groups. The activities are divided into the online and offline activities. The offline activities are, for example, the Recruitment Hub & Mobile Office to focus on the working group, road shows and job fairs to focus on the groups in vicinity areas and other provinces called Field Recruiter Commando. For the high labor market, we focus on creating the CRM in the group of Premium Network. The online activities are, for example, the focus on social media via Facebook (www.facebook.com/ManpowerThai) which is the real-time update, You-Tube, Mobile Application, and Microsite. Every feeds and activities are updated all the time and more channels are added such as Linked-in. For the exporting labor market, we focus on the On-line communication. We also plan the management of Database Pull to create the highest effectiveness in one step. This can enable Manpower to quickly approach the job applicants and meet the demand.

Due to our continual success, in this year we apply the“Collaboration Strategy” as a main mechanism in running the organization with rapidity. We keep up with every situation by providing the service in the form of One Stop of HR Solution whereas our customers can be approached with the Tailor-Made Service. These strategies are the strength of Manpower which can win over the labor market and lead Manpower to finally become the leader in labor search of Thailand. We are like the real friends of our customers.

Miss Suthida adds that last year Thailand made a lot of success with the rate of growing income of 22%. This was because we could really meet our customer demand along with the One-to-One Marketing by using “Innovative Workforce Solution”to revolve the field of HR to respond to the demand and solve every problem of customers. Consequently, our customers could save the time and expense. They also received our best service as we were the expert in labor search.

Mr.Simon adds that in this year, the company will expand the business by exporting more labors. We will open more subsidiaries in other provinces and we also provide the recruitment centers by using mobile cars or units in many points. In the few months, we plan to open a subsidiary in Cambodia. According to the viewpoint of ManpowerGroup, the company expects to more rapidly grow in the labor market, especially in the markets of some countries whose markets are full. If the labor market grows by 2%, Manpower must grow by 10%.

In relation to the encountering of the wage rate occurring soon, Mr. Simon thinks that the minimum wage has been very low for a long time and the living expense is high. Therefore, the increasing wage is a good idea but it is possibly a too fast advancement. This is because in some areas in other provinces, the increasing wage of 300 baht equals to 40%. Some companies have more than 20,000 employees and 90% of them are in the group of receiving the increasing wage. The sum of money is then very high. These companies concern about how to deal with the problem. They may have to reduce their profits or increase the product price. The interesting point is the inflation. The increasing wage possibly results in the occurrence of inflation in Thailand as well. The most important thing is that these companies must encourage the labors to increase the efficiency to agree with the increasing wage. Mr.Simon finally concludes.
