"A Center for Promoting Private Investment in Research and Development"

In order to attract the private sector's interest in research and development TSP offers a range of services including

  • Joint Investment - promotes private sector investment in science & technology by co-investing i.e. forming joint-venture enterprises.
  • Low Interest Loans and Research Grants - provide up to Baht 20 million loans for applied research and development projects including product or production process development and the building or refurbishing of laboratories. Research grants are available for higher risk industrial research and development projects.
  • Industrial Technology Assistance Program - sources local and international experts to investigate and solve technical problems for firms to help upgrade their products and processes, and provides financial support for the consultancy projects.
  • Technology Acquisition Service - assists the private sector to search for, and acquire appropriate technologies. Activities include business matching services, overseas technology trips, organization of technology fairs, and technology information services.
  • Intellectual Property Service - provides legal assistance in relation to intellectual properties and their commercial applications, and links with the Office of Intellectual Property Rights and related agencies to provide IP information services.
  • Analytical and Testing Service - provides a range of analytical and testing services for raw materials and products, employing state-of-the-art equipment at the three National Research Centers.
  • Quality Management Service - promotes the use of the quality system in SMEs to help them attain international quality standards and increase their competitiveness in the world arena. Activities include general training and consulting services for ISO 9002, QS 9000, TQM, GMP, HACCP and others.

"The Hub for Research and Development: An Ideal Location with Excellent Transportation Infrastructure"

Located adjacent to Thammasat University and the Asian Institute of Technology on Phaholyothin road (km.42) which directly links Bangkok to Thailand's provinces in the north and the northeast, TSP enjoys easy access to central Bangkok via multiple in-bound routes through the West Outer Ring Road-Bang Bua Thong, the Chaeng Wattana-Expressway-Bang Poon-Bang Sai, the Don Muang Tollway, the Chiang Rak rail station, and public bus transportation services. Most importantly, the Park site is only 20 kilometers from Bangkok International Airport, which offers a convenient springboard to Southeast Asia and the whole of the Mekong sub-region.

"A Natural Environment Offering Quality of Life for Researchers and Staff"

Designed to promote public-private sectors cooperation, TSP has allocated land area for public sector, private sector, and shared common use, in the ratio of approximately 30:30:40 respectively. Housing the three National Research Centers, the Park thus forms the base camp for the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The area for private sector use includes multi-tenant buildings, an incubation center, and vacant land for long-term lease. The shared common area comprises, among others, pilot plants, a training center, accommodation buildings and the Park's extensive infrastructure. Landscaping is based on the "park" concept in a natural surrounding of lush green grass and shady trees, surrounded by fauna and flora. It is conceived as a work place in a natural setting to provide quality of life for its researchers and staff.

"Modern Infrastructure For Maximum Business Efficiency"

  • Building Automation System - Automatic control systems ensure optimal management of energy resources and safety for systems linkage. This includes the LAN System of each building, which is equipped with a central Access Control Work Station server that can link with personal computers and provide data printouts and efficient communication with different types of equipment.
  • Telecommunications System - The installation of ISDN offers high-speed digital vice, data, and image transfer for accurate, clear, and efficient communication.
  • Internet Network System - The TSP computer network is linked to the NSTDA network, and to the network of the Internet Information Research Center which links all Internet Service Providers, research and academic networks, and the government Internet network using high speed fiber optic, and a back-up microwave system.
  • Video Conference System - Facilities for video conferencing are available in the Park Main-building, the NECTEC building, the BIOTEC building, and the MTEC building. Businesses can feduce the time and cost involved in traveling overseas for conferencing.
  • Exhibition Area - The Park has allocated an area of 1,800 square meters for the organization of exhibitions within the buildings to complement conferencing and seminar services, and to accommodate research exhibitions, and other activities of commercial purposes.
  • Training Center - The training center covers some 16,000 square meters and is available for use by both public and private organizations either within or outside of the Science Park. The NSTDA building and the three National Research Center buildings together also provide an additional 1,600 square meters of area for small group conferencing and training.

"Pool of Specialists and Researchers"

The NSTDA has developed a resource pool of over 600 researchers within the three National Research Centers who are ready to provide research services to industry. In addition, the NSTDA also manages various human resource development programs in science and technology (such as the government's science and technology overseas scholarship program, local post-graduate scholarship program) and provides research funding for university researchers in the fields of the 3 National Research Centers. Furthermore the agency has established collaboration in research and development with many institutions which help to strengthen its network and enables it to efficiently penetrate the country's science and technology sources of expertise.

"Leasing of Facilities for Research and Development"

Incubation Center

Space for lease intended for small companies or small projects, for a period not exceeding 3 years at subsidized rates. The lessee will have access to all support services inclusive of business consultation. The support is designed to promote faster growth and success for businesses with low investment capital.

Multi-tenant Buildings

Each building of approximately 16,000 square meters offers office space for lease for research and development activities and comes equipped with complete facilities.

Long-Term Leasehold Land

The NSTDA has allotted vacant land area for lease for a minimum of 30 years to attract large companies seeking to invest in their own research facilities. The NSTDA and its network of agencies will make accessible to the lessee the usage of all support services relating to research, including co-investment, databases, and human resources.
