Chulalongkorn Business School (CBS), Chulalongkorn University recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hashimoto Sogyo Holdings Co., Ltd. (HAT), Japan's largest trading firm specializing in housing equipment and furniture. The partnership aims to reinforce students' global mindset through various activities and offer scholarships to MBA Chula students.

Assoc. Prof. Nuttapol Assarut, Director of CBS's MBA (Executive) Program, explained that the collaborative agreement with HAT was a crucial step in allowing students to participate in the world business environment, conduct business in the international market as well as develop cross-cultural understanding, all of which help enhance Global Business Experience of MBA students. This is the first time CBS has partnered with an international enterprise.

Mr. Masaaki Hashimoto, President of Hashimoto Sogyo Holdings, which has been in operation for more than 130 years, said that the company has partnered with high schools and universities in Japan but this marked the first time the firm had entered into a partnership with a university in Thailand. The agreement will underline the good relationship between Thailand and Japan.

Under the five-year agreement (2023-2027), the two parties will enjoy academic cooperation and cultural exchanges through various activities and conduct joint research in supply chains. HAT will also lead business delegates to learn in Thailand.

HAT agrees to provide a fully funded scholarship to a MBA Chula student each year and take part in an exchange program that includes company visits, lectures, and/or workshops, and the participation in its annual meeting and conference with MIRAI_KAI and MIRAI-ICH.

Assoc. Prof. Nuttapol added that MBA Chula arranged a study trip to Japan earlier in March this year. HAT was one of the strategic partners supporting the activity, which allowed MBA Chula students to broaden their perspectives on business culture and Japanese business prospects.

MBA Chula continues to move forward to expand international partnerships, which will enable students to learn dynamic global business through real-world experiences. This is just one component of the outstanding learning available at MBA Chula as it enters its fifth decade.
