Charoen Pokphand Group and its subsidiaries, including Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF), have launched a relief effort to support residents impacted by severe flooding in southern Thailand. As part of the "CPF Support 100 Kitchens Response Flood the South" initiative, the company has mobilized a multi-faceted assistance program to ensure affected communities have access to clean, nutritious food.
Led by CEO Mr. Prasit Boondoungprasert, CPF volunteers have been strategically distributing critical food supplies, including chicken meat, eggs, drinking water, and rice. These supplies are being channeled through government agencies, local administration organizations, educational institutions, and volunteer networks to provide aid to flood-stricken areas.
The relief efforts are particularly focused on Chana District in Songkhla province, which is experiencing its worst flooding in 50 years. Key highlights of the company's response include:
Chana Egg Complex donated fresh eggs to Prince of Songkhla University's flood relief center, supporting meal preparation for flood hit residents and volunteer workers. Associate Professor Dr. Vasin Suwanarat, Vice President of Hatyai Campus, received the donation on behalf of the university.
Additional egg donations were made to the Taling Chan Subdistrict flood relief center in Chana District, with further coordination with Dusit volunteers to distribute supplies to other affected areas.
Volunteers from the poultry processing factory in Songkhla collaborated with Na Thap Municipality to establish emergency kitchens, providing fresh chicken and preparing meals for those most in need.
The company's relief efforts extended across multiple districts. Ranod, the fish processing plant dispatched CP shrimp products to the central relief kitchen in Chana, supporting victims in Thepha, Natalie, Sabayon, and Hatyai districts. Collaborating with local influencer Juree Yutube, CPF prepared and distributed meals to affected communities.
In Singhanakorn District, CPF's shrimp hatcheries and farm prepared relief bags, providing essential drinking water and rice to local residents.
This comprehensive response exemplifies the power of collaborative support. By uniting government, private sector, and volunteer organizations, CP-CPF demonstrates an unwavering commitment to helping Thai communities overcome this challenging crisis.
The company remains dedicated to supporting kitchen units and will continue its relief efforts until the flooding situation improves, embodying a spirit of solidarity and compassionate assistance.
