BSRC Achieves Sustainability Certification for B24 Fuel, Ready for Global Marine Customers

Committed to developing sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions, BSRC has introduced B24, a marine fuel containing 24% Methyl Ester derived from Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME), blended with Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) with a sulfur content of 0.5%S. This fuel is designed to be a direct substitute for petroleum-based fuels, requiring no modifications to ship engines or existing fuel infrastructure.

BSRC received the ISCC EU certification on 11 December 2024, and plans to commence the sales of B24 in February 2025. The innovative fuel has already garnered significant interest from leading global shipping companies and domestic customers alike.

One of the key advantages of B24 is its lower emission profile, helping reduce carbon emission from ships. This aligns with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) ambitious targets to cut greenhouse gas emission from global shipping by 20% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emission by 2050.
