Amari Pattaya and OZO North Pattaya Hotel hosts "Releasing Turtles... to Their Home".

Mrs Chutima Kennedy, Vice President of Marketing for ONYX Hospitality Group - Suphot Prakitjanuruk, Area General Manager, Eastern Thailand and Poonnapha Tritanachart, General Manager along with executives and employees of the OZO North Pattaya and Amari Pattaya Hotel, as well as the renowned actress Bow Benjawan Ardner, participated in this event to clean the sea turtle nursery pond and also donate the good to Turtle Hospital at Sea Turtle Conservation Center received by Lt. Kornkamol Kitikamara, WRTN Veterinarian of Sea Turtle Conservation Center Royal Thai Navy

Releasing Turtles to Their Home's event was presided over by the Commander of Chonburi Province Police, Pol. Gen. Kampol Leelapraphaporn, welcomed by Captain Reanchai Poungchoey, Commander Air and Coastal Defense Operations Center (ACDOC), and Mrs Chutima Kennedy, Vice President of Marketing for ONYX Hospitality Group along with Sattahip Police Commissioner are also welcomed.

The event was sponsored by Air and Coastal Defense Operations Center (ACDOC), which provides for six sea turtles — five-year-old and five-month-old turtles to released.

North Pattaya is where OZO North Pattaya Hotel is located. The objective of this Corporate Social Responsibility is a general understanding of the significance of sea turtles, which are regarded as the keystones of marine ecosystems. Sea turtles are crucial to marine biodiversity since they are the ones responsible for making ecosystems more balanced and diverse. And now, the changes in the seas are evident owing to the fast-declining number of sea turtles across the globe. Therefore, reducing sea turtles will significantly influence marine ecology.

The "green sea turtle" is one of the few herbivores that routinely graze on seagrass, which boosts the nutritional content and production of seagrass leaves and helps maintain a healthy seagrass bottom. Unfortunately, this causes the seagrass to get overly long and overgrown. Hence, it obstructs the sea's currents and prevents sunlight from reaching the seabed.

This results in increased soil decomposition and degradation, which promotes the development of slimy mounds. The seabed is covered with algae, fungus and abundant bacteria and invertebrates.

Scientists have discovered that turtles' feeding habits lower the nitrogen level of seagrass roots, which has a good influence on the food chain, plant species, and marine life density and helps sustain the richness of the environment.

Hence, it is believed that diminishing the turtle population would decrease the productivity of the food chain and the quantity of food accessible to people.
