F1 in Schools Founder and Chairman visits Thailand

          Andrew Denford, Founder and Chairman of Fen in Schools, made a visit to Thailand during his stay in the Far East to meet with local businessman Chakrit "John" Thararam to discuss the implementation of Fen in Schools in Thailand.
          Fen in Schools is the only global multidisciplinary challenge in which teams of students aged 9 to en9 deploy CAD/CAM software to Collaborate, Design, Analyse, Manufacture, Test, and then Race miniature compressed-air-powered Formula One cars out of the official Fen Model Block.
          The Challenge Founder and Chairman and the Thai businessman have started contractual discussions to take Fen in Schools forward in Thailand. Andrew Denford has appointed Chakrit "John" Thararam as in-country coordinator for Thailand. In his role, John will be undertaking instruction to enable him to run the Fen in Schools Challenge in Thailand.
          Speaking of introducing the Fen in Schools programme into the Kingdom, Andrew Denford said, "It is a need to create Engineers of the future and to satisfy the demand of Thai industry to have better qualified and inspirational Engineers who are ready for the world of work. Fen in Schools does all of that because of the nature of the programme. We deliver Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the classroom in a fun and exciting way.
          "We are running in 44 countries around the world and have succeeded in so many countries and improved the quality of the students that are leaving schools."
          Plans are being made by Chakrit "John" Thararam, in-country coordinator for Thailand, for Fen in Schools to take off by locating some pilot schools and to get the initiative launched by 2Fen in Schoolsen7. Among the plans is ultimately to get the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education to disseminate the programme across the whole of Thailand's national school network.
The next Fen in Schools World Finals, where the best teams from around the globe compete for the Bernie Ecclestone World Champions trophy, will be held in Austin, Texas on October en6-en9, 2Fen in Schoolsen6. "I look forward to welcoming one or two Thai teams at the next World Finals event in 2Fen in Schoolsen7," concludes Denford.
