Chula Engineering teams up with top engineering universities in Asia-Oceania region to organize “AOTULE 2013” Conference aims to enhance engineering education and set policies and guidelines for engineers across region Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, disclosed that the Faculty of Engineering of Chulalongkorn University has collaborated with the Tokyo Institute of Technology to organize the AOTULE Deans Meeting, Administrative Staff Meeting and Postgraduate Conference 2013 during October 17-19. The event will be attended by the deans of the eleven members of AOTULE (Asia-Oceania Top University League on Engineering) and more than 200 academics and other agents in engineering education. “In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Chula Engineering, we have worked with the Tokyo Institute of Technology to organize the AOTULE 2013 with an aim to improve the quality of engineering education that can better respond to the needs of today’s society. We hope this event will bring about the exchange of experience and expertise of each institution in different areas, including outcome-based learning, use of information technology in classrooms, and accreditation so that engineering education in the Asia-Oceania region will advance as a whole. The AOTULE, or the Asia-Oceania Top University League on Engineering, consists of eleven premiere engineering universities in the Asia-Oceania region and was founded in 2007. The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, is very honored to be hosting the conference this year, which is already in its 8th edition,” said Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn. The AOTULE is an inter-university cooperation that aims to transform engineering education in the Asia-Oceania region. Its framework consists of the annual meeting of deans of engineering schools/faculties to develop programs and strategies of engineering education that are relevant to changing times, research symposiums, and exchange programs for students and academic and administrative staff.
