Bangkok--7 May--ARC Worldwide

At the amazing “Wings of Sparkle” stand located in the New Hall 1.1, stand C21, Robert Buchbauer, CEO Swarovski Consumer Goods Business and Member of the Executive Board, unveiled his strategy for 2020. Accompanied by Nathalie Colin, Swarovski Creative Director, Eric Giroud, the designer of Swarovski’s Avant-Time N?4 “CRYSTALLIUM” watch which just won the Red Dot Award for Best Product Design 2013, Robert Buchbauer officially opened the stand during a cutting ribbon ceremony. All novelties are displayed in a very eye-catching atmosphere: a 2000m? stand called “Wings of Sparkle” surrounded by a 7 meter high curved wall made up of over 250 000 reflectors and 22 800 LED lights. Japanese designer, Tokujin Yoshioka also attended this official ceremony as the designer of this unique stand. Swarovski displays its new Watch Collections: the “CRYSTALLIUM” automatic model for men is added to the extended OCTEA abyssal and PIAZZA grande Men’s lines and the new Women’s Collections such as OCTEA classica, INDIRA or PIAZZA mini. With regards to Fashion, Men’s and Women’s jewelry and accessories collections from Spring/Summer 2013 and Fall/Winter 2013/14 are also displayed in several windows. Nearby, Swarovski Elements presents its new innovations: Xirius 1088 and ADVANCED Crystal, while Swarovski Gems launches its Genuine Gemstone and Created Stone Innovations 2014. “Swarovski is developing from a single brand to a multiple brand business” comments Robert Buchbauer. During two press conferences gathering a selection of 80 journalists from all over the world, he revealed the cornerstones of the company’s vision for 2020: to become the global jewelry market leader with a portfolio of brands. Robert Buchbauer concludes: “We want to add sparkle to peoples’ everyday lives”. In 1895, Daniel Swarovski, a Bohemian inventor and visionary, moved to the village of Wattens, Tyrol in Austria, with his newly-invented machine for cutting and polishing crystal jewelry stones. From this beginning that revolutionised the fashion world, Swarovski has grown to be the world’s leading producer of precision-cut crystal for fashion, jewelry and more recently lighting, architecture and interiors. Today, the company, still family-owned and run by 5th generation family members, has a global reach with some 26,100 employees, a presence in over 120 countries and a turnover in 2011 of 2.22 billion euros. Swarovski comprises two major businesses, one producing and selling loose elements to the industry and the other creating design-driven finished products. Swarovski crystals have become an essential ingredient of international design. Since 1965 the company has also catered to the fine jewelry industry with precision-cut genuine gemstones and created stones. Showing the creativity that lies at the heart of the company, Swarovski’s own brand lines of accessories, jewelry and home d?cor items are sold through more than 2,200 retail outlets worldwide. The Swarovski Crystal Society has close to 300,000 members across the world, keen collectors of the celebrated crystal figurines. And in Wattens, Swarovski Kristallwelten, the multi-media crystal museum, was opened in 1995 as a celebration of Swarovski’s universe of innovation and inspiration.
