PTTEP invents the new innovation to increase oil production

Mr. Anon Sirisaengtaksin (นายอนนต์ สิริแสงทักษิณ), President and CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited or PTTEP has revealed that PTTEP engineers have succeeded in conceiving a new innovation which helps increase oil production and reduce operation expenses. This new innovation, called DeepLift Technique has already received U.S. patent. The DeepLift, enhances the efficiency of gaslift' process. Restrictions of the former gas lift' process meant it cannot inject gas to combine with oil at the deepest level, which results in lowering production capacity. The new innovation is able to perform gas injection at the deepest level or the area closest to the actual well area where oil flows in to the well. This process helps decrease oil density in the production pipe and consequently is able to improve outflow performance and increase oil production. PTTEP has applied this technique with two wells of Sirikit Oil Field. The results show that this innovation boosts production level by at most 215 percent. The DeepLift technique not only increases oil production but reduces operation expenses and allows for production optimization. When a gaslift valve in the production hole needs changing, this replacement can be performed by using only slick-line without needing to pull out the entire production equipment as previously required. It is with much pride that this innovation came from PTTEP Thai engineers. The patent of this new innovation is on process to have it registered in Thailand which should be completed by 2011.
