Technicolor Ramps-Up Management at Thailand Facility

22 Oct 2008

Bangkok--22 Oct--

Technicolor today announced that Paul Stambaugh is immediately assuming the role of managing director at Technicolor’s Bangkok laboratory and postproduction facility. In 2004, Stambaugh first assumed the role of managing director at Technicolor Bangkok and oversaw the transition from Thailand’s CineColor Lab, which Technicolor had purchased and turned into an internationally acclaimed postproduction facility. This announcement coincides with Technicolor’s expansion of its postproduction services at the facility, of which details will be issued in the near future.

Joe Berchtold, president of Technicolor Creative Services stated, “Paul Stambaugh is one of the most well respected laboratory and postproduction experts in the world. We’re thrilled that he has chosen to rejoin our global team.”

Stambaugh, who has spent over forty years in the film processing, television and video post business, trained early on in photography at the LA Trade Technical School and at the University of Southern California, establishing the backbone for his career, which he began as a technician in a film lab.

Stambaugh is also one of the film industry’s leading authorities in film restoration and preservation. After many years of service at Technicolor’s CFI lab in Hollywood, he helped create Technicolor’s current team and infrastructure at the company’s North Hollywood, California restoration and preservation department.

“I’m extremely pleased to be returning to Technicolor and our Bangkok facility,” said Stambaugh. “With our digital intermediate services just coming online, we’re pleased to be able to reach a greater number of filmmakers throughout Asia, providing complete end-to-end solutions for their projects.”
