An exceptional dinghy sailor and great sportsman in general, the King was awarded an “Insignia of Olympic Order” by the International Olympic Committee – the only Monarch ever to receive such recognition – 20 years ago, which prompted yachting enthusiasts to start this first and most famous Thai regatta.
