Not only experiencing a historical fame by ranking on the top 50 best Asian companies list, but PTT Public Company Limited also ranked No. 1 in Asia, according to the Asian BusinessWeek 50 Poll whose ranking is drawn from a list of 625 Asian firms.

Mr. Prasert Bunsumpun, President of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) revealed that BusinessWeek, a leading regional business and finance magazine, has recently announced the Asian BusinessWeek 50 Poll Result by explaining that BusinessWeek’s ranking is drawn from a list of 625 of the companies that met high standard criteria in order to screen out only 50 top Asian firms, and the result shows that PTT is ranked this year No. 1 in Asia.

For Asian BusinessWeek 50 Ranking, BusinessWeek uses a fairly broad universe of companies based on the Standard & Poor’s Citigroup Pan Asia Index which is made up of major companies listed on established regional exchanges. Asian companies are ranked by eight different financial benchmarks including stock performance, return on equity, profit and sales growth both for one year and three-year average as well as net profit margin.

According to BusinessWeek, the ranking is not about size so much as excellence in profit growth, productivity and return on assets.

Mr. Prasert said the recognitions both domestically and internationally as well as many awards won recently are the reflection of efficient and transparent management of PTT. Focusing on good corporate governance, these good practices will lead to a creation of business growth and competitive edge as well as a long-term value for stakeholders of PTT.
