Tiger Airways launches low fare flights from Chiang Mai to Singapore

Bangkok--Feb 18--Spark Communications

Tiger Airways, Singapore’s low fare airline, has announced it will be flying regular scheduled flights from Chiang Mai beginning on 18 February 2005. The airline will offer four flights a week: on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. CEO of Tiger Airways, Tony Davis, said, “Chiang Mai is a very popular tourist destination for Singaporeans because it’s rich in traditional Lanna culture, has great weather, and most of all, has unbeatable sight-seeing in the nearby hills and mountains.” “Singapore is also a very popular destination for both business and leisure travelers from Thailand. So, we’re thrilled to commence our scheduled flights between these two markets, and provide the best value in the industry.” Tiger Airways addresses the needs of travelers looking for a reliable low fare carrier to serve the Asia Pacific, and has responded well to the tremendous growth of air travel and rise of budget travel in the region. “We offer passengers the lowest possible airfares to the destinations we serve, with safe, reliable and convenient point-to-point air travel. We are now the biggest low fare airline with flights between Singapore and Thailand, with the most flights to Bangkok, Phuket and Hatyai. We are delighted to be the only Low Cost Carrier to fly from Singapore to fly to Chiang Mai,” said Mr. Davis. “To celebrate the launch of our new route, we offered 3000 seats at a special airfare starting from 249Baht (one way) for the Singapore-Chiang Mai route. The same special fare was also launched in Chiang Mai, enabling more people from Chiang Mai to travel to Singapore. We are committed to offering low air fares to spur the growth of budget travel in the region,” said Davis. To launch Tiger Airways inaugural flight from Singapore to Chiang Mai today, Tiger Airways has given away 200 free tickets to Singaporeans for travel to Chiang Mai. Tiger Airways will also organize road shows in Chiang Mai giving away free tickets as prizes for travel to Singapore next week. More details will be announced shortly. Flight schedule: (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) TR128 departs Singapore (SIN) at 15.30 hrs and arrives Chiang Mai (CNX) at 17.30 hrs. TR129 departs CNX at 18.05 hrs and arrives SIN at 22.05 hrs.
