SET Signs MOU with Tokyo Stock Exchange Strategic Alliance for Information Sharing Formed

Bangkok--Mar 22--MFA The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) today simultaneously announced the strategic partnership for information sharing. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two exchanges will serve as a foundation for future business collaboration and form part of the initiatives taken by the SET to strengthen Thai capital market competitiveness. Mr. Vicharat Vichit-Vadakan, the SET President, revealed that the Exchange has signed an agreement on mutual cooperation with the Tokyo Stock Exchange on March 15, and agreed to exchange information to benefit the development of securities industries in both countries. According to the MoU, the SET and the TSE have agreed to share information on market conditions, regulatory actions, as well as measures to vitalize the market and to promote effective trading surveillance. "The alliance with the TSE represents a major step by the SET to enhance our business competitiveness, in line with the current development fo inter-exchange partnership taking place worldwide. As one of the leading securities markets in Asia, the TSE is renowned for market management and securities-related services.
