Sun Microsystems Inc., recently announced that it has acquired Long View Technologies, a California-based startup company founded in 1994, for an undisclosed amount. Long View, also known as Animorphic Systems, has been working on commercialising advanced research on dynamic-language performance. The seven members of the company have joined the engineering staff at Sun's Java Soft division.
"We're delighted to have the Long View team at Java Soft," said Jon Kannegaard, vice president of software products, Java Soft. "They're done very exciting research in advanced performance technology for the Java platform, and we expect them to make an extremely significant contribution to the technology."
