The astonishing landscape of the Bale plateau in Ethiopia, nearly 4,000 metres in altitude, is home to some extremely rare animal species which have seldom been filmed before. Amongst these are the giant mole-rat, which can be found here in extremely large numbers, and the Abyssinian wolf. The film juxtaposes the story of a family of wolves and the story of a single mole-rat over the course of six months

In the last hundred years Venice has lost almost a foot of foundation to the sea. The tides continue to rise and suffocating numbers of tourists come to watch. Scientists and residents alike are racing to protect what remains and they hotly debate how to save the city. Fabio Carrera was born in Venice, but for the past twelve years he's been living in the States doing a doctorate in Urban Studies at MIT. Fabio knows more than most about the condition of Venice's canals. As a professor at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Fabio has been leading groups of students to Italy to spend their summers conducting an epic survey of Venice's infrastructure. He's spent thousands of hours surveying every wall and bridge as he continues to look for practical solutions to his city's problems and to preserve his hometown of Venice for years to come.-- จบ--
