ARAYA Land Development Company Limited, the developer of the ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway project, has announced that Infineon Technologies Manufacturing (Thailand) Ltd. (Infineon) signed a land purchase agreement for 125 rai within ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway on March 15, 2024. Infineon plans to develop a back-end semiconductor component manufacturing plant on the site to expand its operations in Asia, meet the growing demand for power modules, and contribute to the company's overall growth strategy. The factory is expected to commence operations by early 2026. This expansion is driven by Infineon's position as a global semiconductor leader in power systems and IoT, as well as the leading player in the global microcontroller market with a 21.3% market share in 2024.

ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway Welcomes Infineon, Germany's No.1 Semiconductor Producer, to Establish a New Back-End Plant in Southeast Asia

Ms. Kamonkarn Kongkathong, Managing Director of ARAYA Land Development Company Limited, stated, " We are incredibly honoured and proud that Infineon Technologies Manufacturing (Thailand), a subsidiary of Infineon Technologies AG - a major global semiconductor manufacturer from Germany - has chosen ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway to develop its new and largest semiconductor production base in Southeast Asia. This investment reinforces the project's multifaceted potential, particularly its super prime location at kilometre 32 on Bangna-Trat Road in Samut Prakan Province. This strategic location facilitates seamless domestic and international transportation links, with direct access to the new Bangkok-Chonburi Motorway, Suvarnabhumi Airport just 20 minutes away, and Bangkok port within 40 minutes.

The project also features world-class infrastructure, including stable energy supply and renewable energy solutions, advanced internet connectivity, and a vast development area designed to accommodate diverse needs. Coupled with strong government incentives and support, and a commitment to internationally recognised sustainability standards, ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway is uniquely positioned as "The First Industrial Tech Ecosystem in Thailand" designed to support leading industrial, innovation and technology companies.

Scheduled to officially open in 2026, the factory is built on key growth drivers in the semiconductor industry, including decarbonization and digitalization to enhance operational efficiency through advanced technology. Infineon's semiconductor component manufacturing facility is designed for high performance, flexibility, and high-quality, ensuring it meets future demand for power modules in the industrial sector, supports renewable energy solutions, and strengthens the resilience of the semiconductor supply chain. Additionally, Infineon plans to establish a "Semiconductor Product Research and Development Centre" to support operations at the facility and its subsidiaries across Asia.

Supported by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), this highly automated factory will play a vital role in diversifying Infineon's production base and meeting the global demand for products that drive carbon reduction and climate protection.

"ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway aims to support the Thai economy, and we hope that this investment will foster strong, sustainable growth in the semiconductor industry, integrate Thailand into the global semiconductor supply chain, drive talent development in the technology sector, and contribute to the long-term advancement of Thai industry," Ms. Kamonkarn concluded.
