The growth of IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world's leading hotel companies, continues at pace in Thailand with its latest signing adding to an increasingly-impressive portfolio of luxury resorts.

Opening in 2028, InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort will be located in Samet Nangshe - a one-of-a-kind picturesque destination in Phang-Nga.

The result of a management agreement between IHG and first-time partner Plaipol Co., Ltd. - a leading gold business owner in Thailand - the 150-key property will be the ideal choice for travellers seeking a relaxing getaway in an idyllic location. Among its many stand-out features will be stunning views of Phang-Nga Bay which is one of the most spectacular national parks in Thailand, renowned for its limestone peaks and magnificent panoramas.

It is the latest resort signing by IHG in the country, where it already welcomes guests at 39 hotels, including 15 resort properties. Of the eight opened properties under InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Thailand, five are resorts, with InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort set to further enhance the brand's world-class reputation in a new destination.

It follows recent openings including InterContinental Bangkok, InterContinental Khao Yai Resort, InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping and InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit, which have added to the growing collection of IHG hotels across Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Phuket, Khao Yai and Chiang Mai.

Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific said: "We're proud to introduce InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort as the latest property in IHG's portfolio of iconic hotels and resorts across Thailand and can't wait to welcome IHG One Rewards members and all of our guests through its doors in 2028. This continues our great tradition in this wonderful country, where we have 39 hotels and approaching 10,000 rooms, and a growing pipeline of 33 properties, giving us another 7,000 rooms - with even more to come!

"It's fantastic that our beloved InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand remains an iconic global symbol of sophistication and worldliness nearly eight decades after its launch. Globally, we have 226 open InterContinental hotels across more than 60 countries, backed up by a pipeline of 97 properties - representing growth equivalent to 43% of the brand's system size.

"This is supported by InterContinental's recent global brand evolution, which is reimagining the luxury travel experience for the modern traveller."

Mr Aphicha Sinthuchat, Managing Director, Plaipol Co., Ltd, said: "We share a joint vision with IHG to develop an iconic destination resort that lies at the heart of the natural geological wonders and rich history and culture of Phang Nga Bay - one of the most beautiful locations in Thailand.

"I have wonderful memories of staying at InterContinental properties around the world and can't think of a better brand for our first foray into hospitality, and support tourism growth in the region. I look forward to welcoming guests at InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort and providing them with unforgettable stays, much like the ones I've had."
