VFS Global, the world's leading outsourcing and technology service specialist supporting governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, is collaborating with EDF (Education for Development Foundation) in launching "Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future", an employment and income-generating project that will directly benefit at least 1,900 students and their families in Chachoengsao province.
Mr Kaushik Ghosh, Head of the Australasia region at VFS Global, said, "At VFS Global, we are committed to making a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. By partnering with the Education for Development Foundation (EDF) on the 'Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future' initiative, we aim to provide young people with the skills necessary to build sustainable livelihoods. This initiative embodies our belief in the transformative power of education and entrepreneurial skill training, ensuring that the next generation has the tools to succeed and have a brighter future."
Mr Sunphet Nilrat, Managing Director of EDF, said, "We are pleased to partner with VFS Global for the 'Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future' project. Through the project students will be able to learn many things outside their normal classrooms, such as business development, financial literacy, project management, and how to work as a team and gain practical experience, among other skills."
The project will be conducted in cooperation with eight schools in Chachoengsao province. Participating students are selected from among the most economically poor ones that are in urgent need of assistance. Theoretical and hands-on training will also be provided by EDF.
Since its establishment in 1987, EDF has been working and coordinating with various organisations and individuals, and has provided 422,749 scholarships to underprivileged students. EDF has developed more than 1,000 CSR projects for various corporations for implementation in schools and communities around Thailand.
Organisations or individuals, who wish to support scholarships or hold CSR activities in schools and communities with EDF, can call 02 579 9209-11 (Monday-Friday), send emails to [email protected], communicate via LINE @edfthai or access www.edfthai.org.
