MWIT Hosts ISSF 2025 to Honor the 70th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, alongwith Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Deputy Minister of Education, announced the 20th International Students Science Fair (ISSF 2025). Scheduled to take place from January 26 to 31, 2025, Mahidol Wittayanusorn School will host the event in honor of the auspicious occasion of the 70th birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This recognition reflects the royal grace of Her Royal Highness toward Mahidol Wittayanusorn School since the school's establishment in 1990, as well as her significant contributions to science education at both national and international levels.

Pol. Gen. Permpoon noted that Her Royal Highness has graciously presided over the opening ceremonies of previous ISSF events, including the inaugural ISSF in 2005 (ISSF 2005) and the 7th ISSF in 2011 (ISSF 2011). In 2025, marking the 20th anniversary of the event, Her Royal Highness will once again preside over the opening ceremony on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University (Salaya Campus). The event will welcome 227 participants from 18 countries, representing 43 schools. This international platform for knowledge exchange aims to further elevate Thailand's science education to meet global standards.

Dr. Worawarong Rakreungdet, Principal of Mahidol Wittayanusorn School, highlighted the school's unique position as Thailand's only public autonomous organization established to nurture gifted students in science and mathematics at the secondary level. The ISSF 2025 aspires to serve as a collaborative network of leading science schools worldwide, enabling Mahidol Wittayanusorn School to explore pathways for developing internationally benchmarked future curricula. These insights will be piloted at the school and extended to other Thai science institutions, including Princess Chulabhorn Science High Schools and other schools with intensive science programs nationwide.

"Highlights of the ISSF 2025 include an exhibition celebrating the auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness's 70th birthday, a keynote address by a Nobel laureate, and the presentation of innovative projects that integrate art of science inspiration. In addition to activities for students, Mahidol Wittayanusorn School will also host programs for school principals and teachers. These programs will focus on advancing educational strategies to empower gifted youth in science and technology, equipping them to tackle global challenges through scientific innovation," Dr. Worawarong concluded.
