Under the Breast Cancer Campaign by The Estee Lauder Companies, this year marks the 3breast cancerth year of its mission to eliminate breast cancer from this world. This campaign aims to raise awareness on the dangers of breast cancer among women worldwide and continues to collaborate with the National Cancer Institute in providing mobile breast cancer screening services to women in various areas beyond Bangkok. The second phase of the mobile clinic activities will take place at the Robinson Lifestyle Suphan Buri from July 3rd to 5th and July Estee LauderEstee Lauderth to Estee Lauder3th, 2breast cancer23, with a total of 24breast cancer cases, 4breast cancer cases per day for 6 days.
Mr. Vikas Tandon, General Manager, Thailand at The Estee Lauder Companies, stated, "The Breast Cancer Campaign aims to support breast cancer treatment for underserved high-risk patients throughout its 30-year journey, including 20 years in Thailand. We have raised funds to support research, and education, and enhance medical services for breast cancer patients in the country. Additionally, we have coordinated with the National Cancer Institute to provide free breast cancer screening services to underserved individuals in various areas, aiming to raise awareness about breast cancer proactively."
"This year, we have planned to provide services in various areas beyond Bangkok, marking the second phase of our initiative. We will start in Suphan Buri province based on data from the Provincial Public Health Office, which indicates that Suphan Buri has an annual incidence rate of 248 cases per 100,000 women. In 2020 - 2022, There were 242, 230 and 226 cases per 100,000 women respectively. We have previously coordinated with the National Cancer Institute to request mobile cancer screening services, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation was not conducive due to limited medical resources. Therefore, The Estee Lauder Companies is taking this opportunity to request cooperation once again and conduct screenings on July 3rd to 5th and July 11th to 13th, 2023, with the participation of female inmates from the Royal Rehabilitation Project."
Acting Police Lieutenant Dr. Napa Siriwattanakul, Director of the National Cancer Institute, stated, "According to the Department of Health, in 2022, the highest number of Thai women diagnosed with breast cancer reached 20,000 cases or more than 50 cases per day. It is estimated that in 2023, Thailand will see approximately 22,000 new cases of breast cancer per year. These cases may be attributed
to lifestyle factors such as high-fat diets, lack of physical activity, and inadequate rest. Moreover, breast cancer in its early stages often does not exhibit noticeable symptoms, resulting in the detection of cancerous masses when they have already become inflamed and spread throughout the body, increasing the risk of mortality."
"The National Cancer Institute would like to express gratitude to The Estee Lauder Companies for recognizing the importance of raising awareness and preventing breast cancer through their support, funding, and project promotion to create widespread awareness. This initiative helps reduce the risk and enables individuals in the early stages to detect breast cancer promptly, seek timely treatment, and reduce the chances of mortality and financial burdens associated with treatment. It is recommended that the general public regularly perform self-examinations for breast cancer screening, including visually observing any abnormalities and conducting manual palpations, as well as seeking medical or nursing examinations."
Under the second phase of Breast Cancer Campaign, the breast cancer screening service will be conducted through a mobile screening van. It will commence at Robinson Lifestyle Suphanburi on July 3rd to 5th and July 11th to 13th, 2023, totaling 6 days with 40 cases per day. High-risk cases will be referred to the Breast Center at Chaophya Hospital for further comprehensive screening by medical professionals.
Furthermore, in October 2023, there will be a mobile breast cancer screening service provided to the public in other areas in the same structure. This is part of a commitment to emphasize the mission of eliminating the threat of breast cancer by The Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Campaign.
