Recently, Dr. Poramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, President and CEO of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) and Professor Dr. Thiravud Khuhaprema, the Director of Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth and Chief Faculty of BDMS Center of Excellence in Cancer; along signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for medical collaboration in Carbon-ion Radiotherapy Program with the Faculty of Medicine of Yamagata University represented by the dean of the faculty, Dr. Yoshiyuki Ueno. This collaborative MOU has placed an emphasis upon academic cooperation and medical services in cancer care, particularly in Carbon-ion Radiotherapy as an advanced modality in radiation oncology.
On this occasion, BDMS management members, doctors, and nurses from Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth, had an opportunity to pay a visit to the Yamagata University Hospital to observe the overall hospital operation as well.
The MOU signed by BDMS, Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth and Yamagata University is an international collaboration of private-public partnership aiming at the optimal utilization of resources, reaching patient's demand in Thailand and other regions. Due to this medical cooperation, cancer patients particularly in ASEAN are able to receive prompt and highly effective treatments through synergized partnership. Not only academic support focusing on researches and medical personnel, it intends to promote the service quality in cancer care.
