Points for Stuvik at Suzuka

With Thursday and Friday practices done, Audi Sport Asia Team X Works had a steep hill to climb against tough Japanese competition at Suzuka. Due to a fire in the team's sister car, Sandy would be sharing his Audi R8 GT3 Evo II with David Pun. Because of this change, the pair would be forced to start from the back in Race 1. Sandy took the wheel for Qualifying 2, and finished in 6th position.

Race 1 saw David Pun take the wheel from the back of the GT3 grid, and after the race got underway he made up several positions before handing over to Sandy. The pair had a good pit-stop, and managed to finish the race in 7th position on a wet Suzuka Circuit.

For Race 2 Sandy took the start, and once the race had started, Sandy settled into 7th position before a spin in the high-speed 130R corner hindered his progress. Sandy handed the Audi R8 GT3 Evo II over to his teammate David, who benefited from several safety cars caused by incidents further up the grid. This meant David would eventually finish the race in 10th position, ensuring points finishes in both races for the duo.

"One of the tougher weekends I've had in my career, just difficult to make an impression on the top positions because we are just so far off due to the BOP. Thank you everyone for the support and I hope we can be back." Says Sandy after the race.
