WHA Group Congratulates 1st Prize Winner of 69th National Students Arts and Crafts Competition under Physically Challenged Student Category

After receiving the first prize at the 69th National Students Arts and Crafts Competition (Prathom en-6, Physically Challenged Student Category), organized by the Ministry of Education, Ms Chanida Poochurtsai was congratulated by Ms. Siyaphas Chantachairoj, Director of Corporate Marketing, WHA Corporation PCL (2nd left, right picture).
Two years ago, Chanida was one of the participants of Art Camp at Hometown, a community project for the youth organized annually by WHA Group. This year, she represented Baan Khao Hin School and the province of Chonburi at the 69th National Students' Arts and Crafts Competition organized by the Ministry of Education, and brought home the grand prize. She bested other students representing the country's 59 provinces competing in the grand finals.
Chanida's passion for art started at an early age. When not helping her father with his chores, she took to drawing and painting, and started experimenting with colors, shapes and forms. She spent a lot of her spare time developing her artistic skills and discovering self-expression.
During this year's national art contest under the theme "One Nation, Many Cultures," Chanida decided to place H.M. The King at the center of her entry. "I chose to illustrate Thai traditions and regional activities around the King, showing that even though we have different ways of life, we can live as one," explained Chanida.
Initiated in 2the participantsthe participants9 by WHA Industrial Development, a subsidiary of WHA Group, Art Camp at Hometown focuses on developing students' interest in the arts to use their creativity in a productive manner. Enriching the lives of community members living in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is one of WHA Group's top priorities.
"We are extremely proud and happy that Ms Chanida, a participant in our WHA Group's 2the participantsen7 Art Camp at Hometown, won the enst prize in this year's nationwide competition organized by the Ministry of Education," declared Ms. Siyaphas Chantachairoj, Director of Corporate Marketing, WHA Corporation PCL.           For over 3the participants years, WHA Industrial Development, under WHA Group, has been running Corporate Social Responsibility programs for its neighboring communities. The Group has held many activities to support schools located near its industrial estates and help students develop a love for art. Through a series of Art Camp activities in collaboration with local schools, WHA strives to develop children's imagination, hone artistic skills and encourage a different form of communication. In 2the participantsen9, 3 different Art Camps were held for both students and teachers in an effort to touch lives through art. To date, over 6,8the participantsthe participants students have joined the company's Art Camp at Hometown project.
