Statement on Employee Infected with COVID-19 and Countermeasure

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., deeply regret to announce that an employee of shipping area at the separated building of Laem Chabang Factory 2, Chonburi province has recently been confirmed as a COVID-19 patient. The patient had indicated symptom and had been admitted to receive medical treatment and take COVID-19 Test at a hospital since March 18, 2020. The Chonburi Public Health Organization informed the test result to the company on March 23, 2020 that the patient is tested as positive for COVID-19 (Confirm Patient). Hence we are announcing this immediately.

In response to this situation, the company has conducted
the following precautionary measures in due course; 

1. Informing Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, about this case as well as closely monitoring the situation and medical treatment of the infected employee.
2. Identifying other employees who have recently been in contact with the patient. The risk employees are requested to stay at home effective from March 23 onwards and observe a 14-day self-quarantine both for themselves and their household members to prevent further spread. They are advised to seek medical treatment and COVID-19 test if any symptoms indicate.
3. Suggesting people or business partners who recently worked inrelation with the infected employee to observe a 14-day self-quarantine.
4. Temporarily closing and disinfecting all the areas concerned within the company premises, with chemicals and ozone machine, following the guidance of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. With the permission from officers of Disease Control Department, the company can now resume the operation.
5. Asking all employees for their cooperation to avoid participating in any gatherings, events, as well as to avoid access to communities or a place where there are a lot of people.

The safety and security of our customers, employees and all of our stakeholders is paramount to us. At this moment, the current situation will not significantly impact our production, sales and customers service operations. We will continue to take preventive measures to deal with the issue, closely working with various stakeholders including the relevant local authorities. Please also be assured that the products and services of Mitsubishi Motors are completely safe at showrooms nationwide.
