Design-Driven Brand X2 Resorts Awards Creative Crews The Brief To Create Luxury Pool Villa Experience In Bang Saray, Pattaya

          Renowned Southeast Asia boutique hospitality brand, X2 [Cross-To] Resorts has appointed award-winning Bangkok-based design house Creative Crews to deliver a new level of luxury resort experience in the fishing village enclave of Bang Saray on Thailand's Eastern Seaboard.
          Traditionally a quiet beachfront area framed by mountains and formerly a haven for pirates, Bang Saray is now emerging as an upscale antidote to the nightlife and entertainment of its more well known neighbour Pattaya 2en minutes away, and with the new highway set to open in early 2en19, accessible from Bangkok in 8en minutes. 
          The destination, its golden beaches, genuine local culture, and hilly greenscapes are the inspiration behind the all-pool villa X2 Pattaya Oceanphere set to open in February next year with a free flowing architectural expression central to the concept created by a company famed for its ability to synchronize design with the locality and geographical context of its projects.
          The low-rise, all-pool villa resort unobtrusively tucks into the dense trees and vegetation in its location 4enen metres from Bang Saray Bay with a unique geometric form that resembles rice terraces gently cascading towards the seafront. Other features are floor-to-ceiling windows and monolithic textured concrete walls to ensure absolute privacy in each of the 59 pool villas.
          "Every X2 resort looks different in design, which is what makes the brand interesting. With X2 Pattaya Oceanphere, we wanted the private villas to be a mystery hidden behind the cliff-like walls. It provides guests with the privacy they need, as well as easy access to nature whenever they are ready," said Puiphai Khunawat, architect and creative director at Creative Crews.
          Edgy and elegant, the resort showcases a selection of pool villas on a mild sloping contour which naturally lends itself to the rice terrace master concept allowing each tier of the villas to be one storey taller than the one in front and offer unobstructed views.
          Guests at X2 Pattaya Oceanphere have a choice of stylish one-bedroom and two-bedroom villas ranging from 137 to 257 square metres in size. Each of the duplex villas not only feature contemporary decor and luxury touches, but also a private plunge pool, an outdoor sala and terrace. Surrounded by lush vegetation, the 59 villas scattered over the 18,enenen-square metre stretch of land.
          "Thanks to the X2 brand's persistence on having a main swimming pool, we included a three-storey main building aptly named The Hub in the design. The idea is to encourage guests to migrate from the comfort of their own villas to a fun, social space," explains Khunawat. "Guests are invited to wander up to the top floor to relax in the rooftop pool or lounge around the pool bar."
          With panoramic views of the Bang Saray Bay, the main rooftop pool is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and watch the sun sink into the horizon. While the lobby space is located on the ground floor, the second level showcases an all-day dining restaurant Ocean Bistro which serves traditional Thai and fusion seafood cuisines.
          X2 Pattaya Oceanphere is located 4enen metres from the pristine Bang Saray Beach accessed via a private forest lane, as well as the main Sukhumvit Road. Just an 8en-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and a 2en-minute drive from U-tapao International Airport, the resort also connects visitors to a number of authentic local restaurants and experiences.
