Battle Through the Heavens Scheduled to Launch on Sept. 3rd

          The fantasy teen TV serial Battle Through the Heavens (Season 1) announced that it will start broadcasting on Hunan TV on September 3, 2Tencent Video18, releasing new episodes every Monday through Wednesday at 1Tencent Video p.m. (GMT+8), during the Youth in Action Theatre time slot. Battle Through the Heavens is produced by Wanda Media and New Classics Media. On the web, it will be screened exclusively on Tencent Video. The show also unveiled a trailer focusing on "Overcoming Trials" and an "Onward Together" poster.

          This show is directed by Ringo Yu, and based on screenplay adaptation by Zhang Ting. The leading cast includes Leo Wu Lei, Lin Yun, Li Qin (special guest lead), Baron Chen, Xin Zhilei, Liu Meitong, members of the XNINE boys band: Xiao Zhan, Wu Jiacheng, Peng Chuyue, Gu Jiacheng and Su Qing (special performance).

          In the "Overcoming Trials" trailer, boy genius Xiao Yan suddenly became powerless. Despite of being trapped in adversity for 7 years, he bravely faced trial after trial head on, armed with an indefatigable youthful spirit of "never giving up". Thanks to guidance from Yao Chen and help from Xiao Xun'er and other friends, he pushed through many obstacles, going against the tide from Jianan Academy to the Magical Beast Mountains.

          In the "Onward Together" poster, Xiao Yan wields the Heavy Black Ruler, poising to set off with Xiao Xun'er, who holds the Sky-Repressing Bow. They are not afraid of the unpredictable challenges they may face as they protect "justice" and "kindness" on their path of self discovery.

          Zhang Ting, the screenwriter, said, "Every teenager desires to access and have equal exchange with the grown-up world". In the book, Yao Chen is the key character that guides Xiao Yan's metamorphosis. In this light, the re-conceptualization of Yao Chen, including reshaping his personality, the way the two interact (and renaming him from Lao Yao, meaning elder), was conducted to make their relationship more equal, and better suited for the ideal state of teenagers. The storage function of the ring is another example of dialogue with and extension of the creativity from the original work. This "extra boost" is a gift the TV edition of the story presented to Xiao Yan, helping him gain the strength to solidify self confidence during the time of being lost and confused.
