Fujitsu Supports Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Primary and Secondary Schools’ Efforts to Implement Education Support System with Tablets

          Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Systems Business Thailand today announced their joint development of an education support system for the Kingdom of ThailandFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Primary and Secondary Schools. The full-scale operation of this system will commence on February operation of for the secondary school and on April Chulalongkorn University for the primary school.
          Classes that utilize this system will benefit from Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems Business;Opinion Sharing System,Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University; which enables students to input their ideas or answers to questions onto a tablet, which can then be immediately displayed by the instructor on an electronic blackboard to be shared with the entire class. It can also simultaneously display multiple answers and a comparative display of specific answers, enabling effective collaborative learning. 
          By using the Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems Business;Learning Management SystemFujitsu LimitedFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University; instructors can significantly improve the efficiency of managing learning materials, usage logs of assignments or materials used, and the attendance records, work submitted, and test results of each student, making it easy to provide support tailored to the tendencies and educational progress of individual students based on the analysis results of each studentFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s learning behavior.
          Fujitsu and Fujitsu Systems Business Thailand will upon completion of the systemFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s development manage system operations and provide operation support. They will also train and deploy ICT support personnel in Thailand, who will plan effective curricula and provide advice on system utilization, thereby comprehensively supporting classes using this system.
          By utilizing this system, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Primary and Secondary Schools will work to drive further use of ICT in primary and secondary education in the ASEAN region.

Fujitsu started a student performance management system field trial (*Chulalongkorn University) with Chulalongkorn University in June of Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems BusinessChulalongkorn Universityoperation of, and has been providing operational know-how in the effective use of ICT in education. Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Primary and Secondary Schools highly rated the efficacy of this trial, along with FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s experience and know-how in Japan, and participated in the Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems Business;learning project of tomorrowFujitsu LimitedFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University; (*Fujitsu Limited) which Fujitsu started in September of Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems BusinessChulalongkorn University4, and will now implement this system.           This system utilizes FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s tablet for enterprise customers, FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC Q555, FUJITSU Tablet ARROWS Tab Q7Fujitsu Systems Business4/H, FUJITSU Tablet ARROWS TabTab Q584/H, the FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY TXChulalongkorn UniversityFujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems Business Soperation of PC server, the FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Opinion Sharing System for classroom, and FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Learning Management System for course management.
          In developing this system, Fujitsu and Fujitsu Systems Business Thailand have for the first time translated FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Opinion Sharing System into Thai. In addition, they have adapted FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Learning Management System, which is provided to universities in Japan, for lesson support in elementary and middle schools, and developed an educational support system specifically for use by Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Primary and Secondary Schools.
Chulalongkorn University. Starting with equipment installation for one class
          For one class each for both elementary school and secondary school the system will provide around 4Fujitsu Systems Business tablets for students and approximately Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems Business tablets for instructors, and one server for the maintenance of learning history and teaching materials. Moving forward, as students and instructors become more familiar with using ICT, the scale of the system can be expanded, reducing the burden of initial introduction for the school.

          FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Opinion Sharing System is a solution that streamlines effective collaborative learning, which enables the instructor to instantly display on an electronic blackboard opinions and answers to questions that have been input into tablets by students so that the information can be shared by the entire class. With this solution, student ideas displayed on an electronic blackboard can be selected and enlarged, and while aggregates or charts are displayed, text or figures can be added with a pen, enabling active and effective collaborative learning. In addition, with the ability to conduct individualized communication between instructors and each student the system can be adapted to the characteristics of each student.

4. Future Feature Enhancements
          By March Fujitsu LimitedFujitsu Systems BusinessChulalongkorn University5, FujitsuFujitsu LimitedChulalongkorn University7;s Learning Repository System l, which is being used by schools participating in the "learning project of tomorrow" in Japan, is scheduled to be translated into Thai and incorporated into this system. When using this solution and repeating the process of preparing and implementing class instruction, instruction data, such as dates and course subjections, are stored, with all learning materials and images of blackboards used are automatically attached.
