SIAM BAYSHORE TO HOST PATTAYA CLASSICAL GUITAR FESTIVAL & COMPETITION ( 27th October 2013)

Popular annual music festival to be held on Sunday, October 27th with all proceeds going to the Father Ray Foundation. Sukosol Hotels in association with the Thailand Guitar Society, Pattaya People Media Group and the city of Pattaya proudly presents the fifth annual Pattaya Classical Guitar Festival & Competition on Sunday, October 27th at Siam Bayshore, Pattaya. The festival offers music enthusiasts in Thailand a unique opportunity, showcasing many of the world’s top guitar makers and musicians. Open to the public, with collectors, players, music lovers, students and general enthusiasts welcome to attend, the festival is a must-see event for guitar aficionados and music lovers on the Eastern Seaboard. The festival boasts an impressive list of artists, luthiers and students from Japan, Germany, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Indonesia, Switzerland, America, Poland, Indonesia and Thailand. This all-day event will kick off with the adult and junior guitar competitions at 09:00, followed by a world-class guitar exhibition at 13:00. The Thailand Guitar Society student concert will start at 14:00, followed by a performance from the "Finest Young Guitarists” starring Natdanai Phuaphanprasong (Thailand), The Juggajee Guitar Duo (Thailand) and Ouo Jeli (Indonesia) at 16:00. Next follows the announcement of the competition winners with first prize in the adult competition being a concert guitar valued at $US4,500, made by the world renowned Indonesian luthier Hanief Palopo. At 18:00, the "Master Concert" with performances from Woratep Rattana-umpawan & Sakol Siripipattanakul (Thailand), Pongpat Pongpradit (Thailand), Santi Kaewjai (Thailand) and 10P11 Guitar Duo (Thailand) will begin. The day will then culminate with a spectacular concert at 20:00, featuring expert performances from Pia Gazarek Offermann (Germany), Paul Cesarczyk (USA/Polish), Leon Koudelak (Swiss/Czech), Tomonori Arai (Japan) & Hitoshi Miyashita (Japan/Thailand), Maria Duo (Japan) and an Award ceremony. Proceeds from the festival will go to the Father Ray Foundation, a non-profit organisation that takes care of 850 orphaned, abused and disadvantaged children and students with disabilities.
